Tribute to Jeremy

He was born from the chaos and to the chaos he has returned.

In between he has forged and blazed a path through this world of illusionary logic and control. Chaos is merely the unfathomable logic of the universe, way beyond the imaginings and perceptions of most who walk on this tiny ball of matter, hurtling through time and space.

We mostly live on the surface of this giant cauldron of creation and destruction, not looking into the murky and wild depths, which swirl wildly and invite us to dive in, and explore the infinite depths of our existence.

There are no beginnings or endings here, merely transformations.

Travel onwards dear friend as you journey onwards to infinity and beyond.

The beginning disguised as an ending

love

METHODOLOGY WORK DESCRIBE BY DYLAN BEHIND JEREMY ARTWORK

TO THE PAST AND BACK AGAIN

THE BRIEFEST OF MOMENTS IN TIME CONNECTED BY A SINGLE LINE

In this series of artworks i am developing a creative process which combines breathwork, art and some aspects of neuro-art therapy.

I started with a reference photo of Jeremy and then drew a partial outline of him using a pen on paper.

Then starts the breathwork/ drawing process. I start at one of the ends of the line and then breath in for the line travelling up and down for the line travelling down. Generally the breath is 10 seconds in and 20 seconds out, which works out to 2 breaths per minute. The basic structure of the  line is in the form of a sine wave.,

Each line copies the previous line accepting and celebrating each little error or imperfection as the line takes on a life and form of its own.

I then repeat the process using the other end of the line until it connects with itself.

I generally do it in two halves to symbolise the dualistic nature of this world we live in.

Each drawing is done using a continuous line with no beginning or ending.

The next step is to scan the drawing and edit it using a drawing tablet. I convert the drawing to its negative then clean up, edit and add color.

In some cases i might then remove the line and leave the negative space.

I see this as a creative and theraputic way of processing the world that i live in and slowly evolving and shifting the narrative and perspective that i have on my life, and the world that surrounds me.
